Size: Medium

Key features (material related):
  1. Blue Pottery is unique because it is made from a quartz-based body instead of clay. The material is prepared by mixing quartz powder, glass powder, Multani Mitti (Fuller's Earth), gum and borax, giving it a smooth, lightweight and glossy finish. Quartz-based (no clay): made mainly from quartz instead of traditional clay. Smooth & glossy: the glazed surface gives a fine texture and attractive shine. Water-resistant: the glaze makes the pottery less porous and durable. Bright colours: famous for its vibrant blue, turquoise, green and yellow designs. Low-temperature fired: fired at about 800–850°C. Fragile: more delicate than ordinary clay pottery due to its quartz composition.
Story of product:

Multan is one of Pakistan's major centres of Blue Pottery. Influenced by Persian art, it is known for its blue and turquoise colours, floral and geometric designs, and Islamic motifs. Multan's artisans create decorative tiles, vases, bowls and plates using traditional hand-painting and glazing techniques, making the craft an important part of the city's cultural heritage.
