The craft of weaving a Changair and Hotpot (also known as a Chabi or Chaba) is an ancient household tradition rooted in the rural cultures of Punjab and Sindh. Rural women have meticulously handcrafted these flat bread baskets using locally sourced, sustainable materials like dried date palm leaves, wheat stalks or wild munj grass. Traditionally decorated with vibrant, naturally dyed threads to form geometric flower patterns, they have been used for generations to serve flatbreads (roti and naan) cleanly and keep them warm during meals.
